VPN Support

No installation of anysort is required to use the VPN.!

To create the connection file you can follow the instructions by selecting from the operating system below to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) once you have received your user ID and Password via email.

VPN Errors

What they mean!

 

 

 

Windows 2000 & XP

You have your user ID and Password now you need to:

1 - Open Network Connections

 

Open up the Control Panel from the Start Menu and double click the Network Connections item.

2 - Now we need to Start the Wizard

 

In the left hand side of the window you will see a link saying "Create new connection". Click on that link. You will now see the New Connection Wizard . Press the Next > button

3 - Selecting the Connection Type

 

Now select the Connect to the network at my workplace item and press Next >
Now select the Virtual Private Network connection option and press Next >

4 - Entering the Company Name

 

It will ask you a company name - Name it  VpnAccounts.com and press Next >
You may now see a Public Network window, select Do not dial the initial connection  option and press Next >

5 - Entering IP or Host Name

 

It will now ask you for a Host name or IP address , enter IP or host name provided to you in the email and press Next >
Now  check the box to add a connection to your desktop and press Finish .

 

Enabling PPTP Encryption

 

Right click on the connection and select properties.
Click on the "security tab" and then select "Typical" and ONLY mark "Require Data Encryption".
Click on the "Networking Tab" and chose PPTP VPN
While in the "Networking Tab" Uncheck the "File and Printer Sharing...".
Hit "ok" and then "ok" again. You are done.

Enter username and password and you can connect to the server.

 

Enabling L2TP Encryption (Another form of Encryption)

 

Right click on the connection and select properties.
Click on the "Networking Tab" and chose L2TP VPN.
While in the "Networking Tab" Uncheck the "File and Printer Sharing...".
Click on the "security tab" and then select "Typical" and ONLY mark "Require Data Encryption".

Click on IPsec Settings and enter "secureserver" and check the box to use a pre shared key.

Hit "ok" and then "ok" again. You are done.

Just double click the VpnAccounts.com icon on the desktop and enter your username and password and press connect. You may also want to select to save the password so you dont have to retype it next time.

It will setup the VPN tunnel and you are all set, you will see an icon appear in the taskbar in the bottom right-hand taskbar for the connection - you can right click this and select disconnect to break the connection when you are finished, you can also see the encryption you are using.
